2020 ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer Team Captain Information

2020 Team Captain

Thinking about forming a team or becoming a team captain? Team captains are a vital part of the Walks for Cancer.  They can ensure the success of the Walks by forming teams, keeping their team members motivated to fundraise, and encouraging friends and family to register and donate. We are so grateful to our team captains, and wanted to share some information to help you succeed in leading your own team.

Step 1: Create and grow your team

Creating a team is super simple!  The first step in our registration process is joining or forming a team.  To form a team, just type in a name for your team, choose how many people you want to join your team and set a fundraising goal. Complete your registration - don't forget to add your family members or friends if you are paying their registration fee!

Once you've registered as the team captain, other team members can find your team and join. Set a goal for the size of your team, and invite twice as many people to participate with you. Send messages through your Participant Center to recruit team members. If someone is unable to walk with you, ask them if they can support you or your team with a donation.

If you are the team captain of a corporate team, contact us to discuss invoicing options.

Step 2: Customize your Team T-Shirts

Teams have the option of customizing their team shirts with a white imprint on the backs of the team's shirts. To learn more about how to customize your team's shirts, please visit our Team T-Shirts page

Please note the following deadlines pertaining to custom t-shirts

  • March 11- Team artwork due
  • March 18 - Registrations due for customized team shirts

Step 3: Set a Fundraising Goal

We encourage you to set a fundraising goal for yourself, and also for your team. You can log and adjust your individual and team goal, as well as email family and friends to requsest donations through your Participant Center

Participants can earn prizes when they raise $125, $250, $500 or $1,000. Visit the Incentive Prizes page to see what prizes are available this year.

Step 4: Have Fun and Encourage Your Team

Help your team members personalize their fundraising pages. Share with your team why you wanted to form a team and participate in the Walks for Cancer. Suggest they each use their email and social media tools to reach out to their family and friends and share their own reasons for walking this year.
